THE MODERN LEPER (short film, 2020)

in august of 2020, i was (yet again) in the middle of a stormcloud so dark and heavy i couldn’t see anything ahead of me.

so i started making something to make sense of it, hoping that i'd find a thread that would lead me to the other side.

what i ended up making was this film.

it’s a film about heartbreak, catharsis, and the art that gets you through.

making the thing was a gauntlet in itself, and i've been through months of uncertainty, not knowing if i was going to be able to sort out the legal stuff i needed to release it.

for a significant period of time i had resigned myself to the idea that it would never see the light of day, despite being perhaps the most rib-crackingly honest piece of art i've ever made.

but somehow, i made it here.

i am ecstastic, and frightened, and relieved, to share with you:
